I want to improve my English skills.
The first day I’m a member of this site but this is not the first time i visit this site. I downloaded all available podcasts of English Teacher John and took listening exercise very much. I feel ETJ site is very friendly!
I searched on the Internet to find a place to learn. I saw VOA special English that the good place to listening exercise. I’m really like this place. I listened, understood and raised the standard of vocabulary very much. But only with news i feel tired so soon. I only heard one news a day.
After a time, I was continue searching for a new place and i saw English Teacher John show. Very very more wonderful. I downloaded all mp3 podcasts and play on my computer before go to sleep every day. I feel very friendly. More learning here! I copied a CD for my young sister. She was really like it.
Today i decide sending a message to English Teacher John to show deep gratitude. And I’m really happy to join this group. I always hope my English will improve a little.
Now i understand that English is very important if you want to communicate with everyone not in your country. Many students want to find friends on the Internet as a way of practicing their language skills and learning more about new cultures. So am I!

I have just graduated college last year. I went to work in a software company. Many things i had to learn. Making the acquaintance of new works. Preparing new skills for works. Remembering many computers name, my own accounts name and password … But it was not a big problem. The most thing i very hated is everyone used English to communicate. Yeah! Email by English, chat by English, documents by English, reports by English … English everywhere.
Terrible! i always got mark 4/10 or 5/10 in my class. I learned English only to pass. Yeah! because i need English mark to graduate. I only focus on Java, C++, Programing System, … to become a good programmer. I got high mark on them. I always thought that no need English, no need English.
I know I’m wrong. The first day on work i send an email to say hello everyone with many spelling mistake. A few next email i couldn’t present my idea. too bad…! I didn’t lost my job but i didn’t keep an important site in the current project. Everyone thought a person don’t well in English that person don’t well in every things. And I started learning English anywhere, anytime as much as possible.
After a few month i got better. I worked on next project. I still make many spelling mistake on writing, but everyone understood my idea and i meaning what. Everyone catch my mistake then show me how to correct. I feel very happy about it. I still try very much.
Up to now, I still always feel that English is very difficult to learn. Like English Teacher John say that a second language a lot of time to learn. And not easy to learn a new language.
OK! That’s why writting is really important!

Thanks for posting a message here. You did a good job of writing something about yourself. After reading your message, I feel like I know you a little better!
I hope other English learners can also write something about their lives. It’s always so interesting to read stories about people around the world. Great!
