About Us - About John

	Name: John Koons From: Philadelphia, United States Education: B.A. Engineering Minor concentrations in Computer Science and Accounting TEFL English Language Teaching Certification, 2003 Experience: Currently an English teacher and proofreader in Matsumoto, Japan, with work as: - a part-time English Lecturer at Shinshu University (Matsumoto). - a part-time English teacher at Matsumoto University and Matsumoto University Junior College. - a private English Teacher at our home, and around the Matsumoto area. Ten years as an English teacher, in India and Japan. Many years in Dharamsala, north India, teaching English and computer skills to Tibetan refugees. More than 15 years in the computer field; programming, accounting systems, project management and consulting. My family has had a steel business (about 50 employees) since 1935 and I have served it in many ways. I have traveled to about 30 different countries. I have studied languages and can converse in Italian and Tibetan. I am now studying Japanese. My wife is Japanese. I am a licensed scuba diver and glider pilot (sailplane). Interests: Yoga, skiing, travel, reading, language, scuba diving, soaring (glider/sailplane pilot). See photos
